Polar Brrrrrrrs

Participants of the 2009 Polar Bear Plunge submerge themselves in the frigid waters of Upper Nemahbin Lake in the town of Summit on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009. The event is an annual fund raiser for breast cancer awareness and other charities. Bryon S. Houlgrave ©/The Waukesha Freeman

It's Wisconsin tradition each year to start the new year off with a "cleansing" jump into icy waters. It was 30 degrees with a brisk wind. Many said the weather was perfect. I said they're out of their minds.
